Spring Career Development Events
Career Development Events build on what is learned in agricultural classes and encourage members to put their knowledge into practice. These events are designed to help a member prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging the student's technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as their knowledge of the subject matter. CDEs answer the question, "When will I use this knowledge in the real world?"
Many CDEs are qualifying events for the National FFA CDE competition and/or offer scholarship opportunities. To learn more about CDE's in Texas, visit https://www.texasffa.org/cde.

We are very fortunate to live in an area which has so many opportunities to participate in CDE's before the Area contest in April. We have teams competing in Horse and Livestock Judging, Veterinary Science, and Floriculture. Students practice before and after school, and not all whom practice get to go. The Advisors pick the top members needed for a team based on how well they do in previous events before deciding whom will go to the Area competition.
